"My Road To Rock.........I found the love for music at the ripe age of 5 when my mother started me in Violin lessons. I studied what is called the method of Suzuki. It's basically when you train how to play and perform all by ear. I than began to love to sing with my grandmother. She would make my sisters and I perform weekly everytime we saw her. Which led me into singing and performing for our Church at the age of 7. By this time music was just what I did for fun. I decided I needed to try something new maybe piano for a few years. That just didn't do it for me, so I decided to join the school band and become a percussionist. (Than I would rock) It was good but just didn't have the right kind of rock I was looking for. So at the age of 17 I went with a friend and bought my first electric guitar and amplifier. I loved it!!! I found my ROCK!! I taught myslef some chords and left for college. A year into college I just wasn't into the studying thing. (imagine that) So I did a major evaluation on my life and decided the one thing I loved in life was music. I would start a band! (you're only young for so long) Leep 27 was formed in 1997.
We started small doing parties and college gigs and then left for Minneapolis to make our mark. We recorded a CD Leep27 (self titled) at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls,MN and the journey began. We toured non stop all over the midwest. We started to get some play time on the radio and some different Television shows. Leep27 (self titled) has sold over 20,000 copies to date. Silver was the next project we wrote and recorded, again we did it at Pachyderm and also Blackberry Studio with Producer Alex Oana. It took us a year of pre production to make this beauty. Silver won "Best Pop Rock Album" of the year at the Minnesota Music Awards in 2002. The band Leep27 won "Best Pop Rock Band" of the year 2002 and Again, in 2003. Now with 1000+ shows under our belt this was our time! We toured relentlessly, but without tour support we lost the battle. Silver currently has sold over 10,000 records to date. I've currently been writing with musicians like Levi Seacer Jr.(Prince), Casey Smith(Jessie Lang) to name a couple. I moved to New York to persue my dreams even further. I'm starting to play out as a solo artist. Release some tunes I've written and recorded. Make some good connections along the way and put together a bad ass band. Working to one day be back out on the road with this new project, selling Millions of records instead of thousands. The idea is to never forget your dreams!!"- Todd Epley
